Creating your community profile

How to set up your community profile

In this tutorial you will log in and edit the profile that will appear on the new website. Before you start, please locate a digital picture of yourself (a head shot). You will use this image in your profile. The objective is to create an official web presence on this website. We can get this done in a few easy steps, so let's get started.

Step 1: Log in to this website

Go to https://digital.ag.iastate.edu/login. This will take you to an Okta screen where you should enter your ISU Net-ID and password.

Step 2: Access your profile

Logged in users should see a white bar at the top of the website that includes your Net-ID and a link to your profile. Click on the Profile link.

The profile link is at the very top of the page next to the Net-ID.

Step 3: Edit your profile

Click the Edit tab at the top of your profile.

The Edit tab is at the top of the profile page content.

Some information may already be filled in. Review it and make any corrections.

There are many fields you may wish to fill in, but here are the important ones:

People Category

Select the category that you fit the best. For the Digital Ag Community, choose "Community Members".

Position

This field is for your relevant academic position. You may add more than one.

Affiliations

Enter your professional affiliation relevant to your work with the Midwest Digital Ag community. For the URL, enter <nolink> because a URL is not needed.

Step 4: Save

Scroll to the bottom and click the Save button. You can always come back to this profile to edit and add more.

Other optional fields

There are several more fields you can fill out to flesh out your profile. This guide at help.sites.iastate.edu goes through each field step-by-step.
