Summary: The National Agricultural Library (NAL) is part of the USDA Agricultural Research Service and the Research, Education, and Economics Mission Area. The NAL mission is essentially described in the Organic Act of 1862 “to acquire, [preserve], and disseminate useful information on subjects related to agriculture.” In 2012 NAL began including digital scientific research data as part of its mission in support of Federal Open Data and Public Access requirements. NAL will share information about its services and products that support USDA Public Access and Open Data requirements.
